Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She is also an accomplished public speech writer. The site was created by a woman in her early 20s who wanted to create the series of videos on the internet that would examine gender representations in games. However, she became victimized by online harassment. The attack did be a deterrent, but it only strengthened her resolve to be a feminist media critic.
