Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised with twelve other kids. Her imaginative mind allowed her to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. Songs were written by her before she was able to read and write. When she was eight, she bought her first electric guitar and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The following year, Gold Band Records was an independent label. In high school she established herself locally but dreamed about having a bigger stage. When she was graduating in 1964, she moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde was her first record to chart at the top of Monument Records. Porter Wagoner began looking for female singers to join his television show that was syndicated about the exact as the time. Parton accepted the job in 1967 signed to RCA Records in 1968 and joined in the Grand Ole Opry in 1969. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's Show because the success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release. Parton wrote "I Will Always Love You" in support of Wagoner just after the pair split. The track was ranked No. #1 for the first time since 1974.
