Lee Roy Selmon blends the advantages of a scholarship to football in his family and community service. First, the Selmon family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. Selmon was an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third season in 1975. Selmon received a bachelor's degree from the University of California in Berkeley. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in college. Then he settled in Tampa after graduation, and played with the Buccaneers for nine years and made three times all-pro. His career in business began. In 1988, as an account relations officer at First Florida Bank of Tampa He was a member of the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that in 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of America's 10 outstanding young males. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs during his time playing college football. The year 1975 was the first time he was on the team. squad. He joined the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. In 1988, Selmon was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. The same year, he also was a part of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame as well as the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
